Thoughts about Nothing

Went to the Starbucks at El Cerrito Plaza and they redesigned the inside. I like the dark wood added more seating and tables. I don’t like it because it is to crowded. Waiting for drinks or food and there is no standing room. You are in the way. People are all over each other.

The job has too much drama and is a rough place to work. Everyday is Monday. There is the original Monday, second Monday, third Monday, fourth Monday and fifth Monday. Clock out and it is Friday.

Bicycle riding, going to the gym and hiking is the best for my mental health. Take a camera with me and do a little photo therapy.

Libraries are my temple. Take a break and do some reading. Enjoy the quiet.

I like how this picture came out.

CDs making a comeback. Glad I never got rid of mine and kept my stereo system. The negative, used prices going up.

Bicycle Ride to Orinda Library

Bicycle ride to Orinda Library. Going to lock the bicycle up and then walk to Nations for breakfast.

The ride along San Pablo Dam Road to Orinda is my favorite ride. Not really a hard ride but enough to give the legs a good workout and the view is great.

Orinda Library is a nice rest stop before the pedal home. Can get some reading in.

Climbing

My way of approaching climbs while bicycle riding. First pray for death, that didn't work. Second start pedaling. Never look to far ahead. Pedal slow, I'm not racing. If I have to take a break, take a break.

When I finally make it up the hill:

Running

Don't know where the thought came from, but I'm going to see if I can get back into running. Don't know where this will lead. The only time I ran consistently was when I was in the Air Force. A little after I got out.

To get started I will be running a little when I'm on the treadmill. I will walk and then start running until I get tired. Looks like a little over a minute.

A treadmill makes getting back into running easy because the treadmill does most of the work. I just have to keep my legs moving. Running on pavement my legs do the work. Pavement does not move.

I have strong bicycling legs, but weak running legs. My legs feel heavy when I'm running. My legs are sore.

I want to start running at lunch when I'm at work. A half hour run with some walking by the water. Hopefully in a couple of months it will be running with no walking.

Bicycling Thoughts

Thoughts going through my head while bicycle riding:

Where did this rain come from. Not in the forecast. Never trust a weather app.

Why always headwinds or does it seem that way. I get a tailwind and I wonder what is going on. This is not right.

When there is an accident why sweep glass into the bicycle lane? Maybe clean it up. Asking too much.

If there are no bicycle racks in a shopping center I won't stop. They don't want the bicyclist's money.

Still won't go to businesses that only had drive thru during lockdown. Discriminated against bicyclist and people who walk. Only cars are important.

Hate hills. Never had the legs for it. Ride more hills they tell you, that didn't work. I get up the hills but there is no speed. I'm the one everyone passes up. Too many climbs, but I can't escape them. They are everywhere.

I'm glad I went on the bicycle ride. I feel like I accomplished something and I feel good.

Every bicycle ride is an adventure. I want to go somewhere and visit. Usually turns into a library ride. I like libraries. The best rest stop.

Ride to Gioia Coffee Shop

Put my winter setup on my bicycle. I carry more stuff during the winter and I tend to stop and shop more. Don’t ride long distances during t...
